Robert ‘Doc’ Laurence joins the NESCRC administration with over fifty years of experience with the Game.  While Laurence played for seventeen years (with MIT, Baltimore RFC and Rosslyn Park FC), his most notable undertakings have been during his time in rugby administration.  Aside from his considerable experience in coaching (UMASS for 33 years, and Colby for 10 years, as well as some time at Toulouse University), he has served as the Director for NERFU and Rugby East, the Collegiate Director for Rugby East and NERFU, Secretary of NERFU, VP of Colleges for NRU, and as a Member and Chair for the USAR Collegiate Committee.  Additionally, Laurence has served as a selector for the NERFU, NERFU Collegiate, Rugby East, RugbyEast Collegiates, and USA Rugby select teams.  He also coached the 1982 New England Collegiate All-Stars.  His mission to develop in players an enduring love for the Game has led him to seek involvement at every level of the sport, and will help him meet his goal of seeing the growth and maturing of collegiate players in rugby and in life.
